Kisumu Fashion Week has finally unveiled the faces that will be gracing the runway at this year’s edition of the Kisumu Fashion Week.
Arguably the most famous of fashion events this sides of Kenya, KFW revealed fourteen models that will be donning designer pieces at the event scheduled for later next month.
At least 60 models turned up at the auditions held at the exquisite Lemon Grass Lounge located within the lavish Kogello Villas Resort in Milimani, Kisumu.
The annual event now in its seventh edition attributed the huge turn out to the ever-steady growth of the fashion industry in the Western region, especially Kisumu.
KFW auditions were judged by Former Miss Kenya Finalist Yvonne Angela, KFW CEO Kysh Roberts and a third tiebreaker judge; one that the KFW organizers chose to only identify as ‘Person X’.
“This is an individual who has no much interest in the fashion world and only acted as a third eye, who looked for the audience feel about a model on the runway and if he or she is worth the part,” said KFW CEO Kysh Roberts.
“We were not looking for anything more than confidence, one’s belief and poise that he or she could strut the runway was just enough,” added Kysh
The fourteen,8 ladies and 6 men will undergo intensive one-week training and grooming under Former Miss Kenya Finalist Yvonne Angela and Former Mr World Kenya Finalist Derrick Lumumba.
The models to be dressed by acclaimed designers include Tevin Cook,Lidon Mike,Herine Onyango,Jesse Joseph,Jan Max Otieno,Lynn Jaka,Ombiro Victor,Denisha Tess,Winnie Phoebe,Abayo Hellen,Njema Patricia,Jealian Mmbone,Anne Amondi and Churchill Okoth.
The event Gala is scheduled for the 19th of September at a yet to be disclosed location under the theme promoting the fashion industry for investment and growing the manufacturing sector.
