Kisumu Fashion Plus Size Fashion Affair has marked its spot in the Kisumu fashion industry with a sold-out event during the occasion’s third edition held at Imperial Hotel on Saturday night.

With tickets running out barely an hour into the event in what can only be described as Kisumu events coming of age. The thought-provoking night to celebrate curvy women organized by Elegant Modelling Agency saw fashion lovers stream-into the event venue starting 7 pm.

A host of ushers were on hand to receive the guest who were lead into a red carpet stretch of the open-plan fashion market. With select designers displaying and selling items that included among others designer perfumes, designer glasses, bracelets, ankara fabrics, bags and purses.

The path led to erected stanchions at the entrance that separates the men from the boys- one leads to the VIP area as the other leads to the regulars.

The night looked promising with a host of designers on set; kicking-off the night with the introduction walk on runway was a genius combo of Hassan Omari denim wears and fascinators by Touch of Style.

Customized bags by Julie Onyinye would be up-next on the runway, with models strutting the runway in personalized bags that would make one step-out in pride.

Lauren Lonorrah’s Montasha designs, named after her two-year-old daughter Montansha ; hit the runway with brightly – colored accessories made out waste paper and plastic.

Also showcasing was Ann Odera who wowed the audience with her pieces on how to dress a plus size bride with souped-up gowns.

Other designers included Hope designs, Sporters Mavazi, Keyngs Couture, Tigo Arts and Lebrann.

KPSFA Founder and event organizer Winnie Wenger Walcott thanked the fans for turning up;

’ Wow! So I am a bit teary, and a bit over the moon, 😉yesterday was a good day, a big thank you to every one that willingly shared, retweeted the poster u made us reach a wide audience. Thank you,” she said.

Not scared of challenges, Winnie promising the audience a bevy of plus size men on the runway come next edition.

The face of KPSFA Adhiambo Opondo alongside Sahara FM’s Musa Naviye and MC Onyulo were emcees of the night.
